Mario, originally from Malta and now living in London, accidentally thought of the concept of Someone Once Told Me in 2006. Subsequently he started the photography website of that name, despite his camera being 30-years-old and he not fully understanding what an aperture was. He has used the website as a tool with which to teach himself photography. He has had a new photograph up on the site every day since 8 September, 2007 (and always, always needs more).
SOTM has been featured in the UK’s Guardian and Metro newspapers, the Sunday Times of Malta, the Boing Boing website and numerous blogs.
Aside from all his photography efforts, Mario is a journalist for the BBC News website, writing about some of the UK’s biggest news stories along with a variety of features, including ones on Nazi hunters and also prostitution at the London Olympics.
